A 12-to-24-hour layover in Zurich is a gift: the city is compact, safe and only 15 minutes from the airport. Store the luggage, book a transfer – and off you go.
Morning: old town and the Limmat
Start in the Niederdorf, stroll across the Rathausbrücke and through Augustinergasse with its painted bay windows. The Grossmünster and the Fraumünster with its Chagall windows are just steps apart.
Afternoon: lake and views
The lake promenade begins at Bürkliplatz – in summer a short boat ride is worth it. For the best view over city, lake and Alps, take the Polybahn up to the ETH terrace. Finish with a coffee on Bahnhofstrasse before your chauffeur takes you back to the airport – right on time for check-in.
